Biz Her Way Summit
As a Beyond Mindset Mentor and Brainspotting Practitioner, I had the absolute honor of speaking at the BizHerWay Summit, where I joined a powerful lineup of women entrepreneurs to share something deeply personal and professionally transformative: how Brainspotting Therapy is helping my clients—and me—clear emotional blocks fast and finally take action in their businesses.
During my session, I unpacked why traditional mindset work isn’t enough when it comes to deeper struggles like imposter syndrome, self-doubt, and fear of being seen. These aren’t just surface-level issues—they’re rooted in the nervous system. And until we address them at that level, they’ll keep showing up no matter how many affirmations or strategy tweaks we try.
Why Brainspotting Is a Game-Changer for Entrepreneurs
I explained how Brainspotting uses the mind-body connection—and your eye position—to help you locate and release the hidden emotional barriers that keep you from showing up, speaking out, and getting paid. It’s gentle, fast, and incredibly effective.
The session wasn’t just about theory. I shared how Brainspotting changed my life, too.
For years, I knew how to help people reverse insulin resistance—but every time I tried to market myself, I froze. Once I started using Brainspotting, I stopped shutting down and started showing up. Now, I help my clients do the same.
Real Tools for Real Transformation
With over 20 years of experience as a licensed paramedic and deep training in trauma-informed methods, I broke down:
Why your procrastination might actually be your nervous system protecting you
How emotional blocks affect your visibility, pricing, and confidence
What one session of Brainspotting can unlock (spoiler: a lot)
Simple ways to start clearing those patterns without reliving the past
Whether you're building a business, writing a book, or just trying to stop second-guessing yourself, this conversation offered a practical and powerful roadmap to move forward with clarity, confidence, and capacity.
Want to Experience It for Yourself?

Biz Her Way Virtual Summit Interview
Date: October 18, 2024
Host: Sacha Walton
Guest: Jennie Hays – Beyond Mindset Mentor, Brainspotting Practitioner, Licensed ParamedicIntroduction & Guest Overview (00:00–01:16)
Sacha: Jennie Hays is here today! She’s a Beyond Mindset mentor, a seasoned Brainspotting practitioner, and a licensed paramedic with over 20 years of experience helping women break through emotional and mindset blocks. Certified in Brainspotting, hypnosis, and NLP, Jennie uses her unique blend of methods to help entrepreneurs overcome imposter syndrome, fear, and self-sabotage—fast. Her superpower? Reading between the words to identify the root of what’s holding women back in business and life. Jennie will reveal how brain–body connection creates rapid transformation, empowering women to grow sustainable businesses with confidence and clarity.
Jennie: (00:54) Hello! I’m excited to be here—radiant today!
Personal Background: Life Beyond Business (02:23–03:30)
Sacha: Jennie, outside of what I read about you—who are you in real life?
Jennie: I’m a wife, stepmom to three adult kids, and grandmother to three-and-a-half grandbabies (one due in March). We rescued some puppies yesterday—dedicated animal lovers. I also love fishing, music, and finding joy and play in life. While I’m Christian, I’m non-judgmental—I prioritize joy and play, even in my work.
Establishing Connection: Imposter Syndrome & Legacy (03:30–05:14)
Sacha: You and I both experience infertility. For me, the legacy I’m building now is in the lives of clients I support. I love that for each coach you help break through imposter syndrome, you’re touching their families’ lives in an exponential ripple effect.
Defining Imposter Syndrome (05:18–06:04)
Sacha: What is imposter syndrome in your words?
Jennie: (05:32) It’s the voice that tells us “You’re not good enough.” We compare ourselves—"look at her, look at him." We feel less—even when we aren’t. And thank goodness—if we were all the same, life would be boring!
Why Mindset Alone Isn’t Enough (06:10–07:31)
Sacha: Why does mindset work fall short sometimes?
Jennie: Mindset work treats only the symptoms—like taking Advil for a broken bone and telling yourself not to move. Real healing comes from identifying the emotional root stored in the body—and Brainspotting helps clear that root. When the root is cleared, the imposter syndrome no longer sneaks back.
Explaining Brainspotting (07:31–11:03)
Jennie:
Developed by psychologist David Grand, building on EMDR used for PTSD.
(09:10) Let me simplify: imagine your brain is a head of cauliflower:
Florets = thinking brain (where mindset lives)
Stems = limbic system ("lizard brain"—fight, flight, freeze)
Main stalk = body sensations (tightness, heaviness)
Emotional "capsules" store unprocessed memories; when they leak, they trigger reactive behavior—like imposter syndrome.
Brainspotting "spots" the trigger with eye movement, helps reconnect the body to the brain safely, and clears the stuck emotion—quickly.
Sacha: That cauliflower analogy really brings it home—it’s elegant and practical.
How Brainspotting Feels (14:34–15:16)
Jennie: We use your eyes to find the hidden spot—the server where your body holds the emotional memory. You tune into physical sensations—tightness, hesitation, heaviness—that’s how we access and clear the emotion. The process is fast and gentle.
Immediate Strategies & Brainspotting Alternatives (15:23–17:09)
Sacha: What can people try before they do full Brainspotting?
Jennie:
Tapping or breathwork—great for immediate relief.
Feel the feeling—sit with sensations for 60 seconds to process.
Surprisingly, playing Tetris can help as a quick tool to shift brain-body energy!
Applying to Business & Real Stories (18:05–24:57)
Sacha shares her own struggle with marketing her insulin-resistance program—“What if I say the wrong thing?” Brainspotting changed everything after one session.
Jennie: In intake, I explore mindset, support systems. Then the session begins with agitation of the feeling, finding the brainspot, and following the body’s process. Some feel visuals, others just sensations. After the session, clients often experience clarity like:
Confidence to share their message
Ability to finish books: one client wrote 8 chapters post-session
Session Structure & Follow-Up (19:46–22:41)
30-min Intake: Assess support systems, patterns, nervous system.
50-min Session: Agitate the emotion, find the spot, follow and process.
30-min Follow-Up (2 weeks later): Integrate breakthroughs; assess if more work is needed. Most clients only need 1–2 sessions.
Results: Quick & Profound Breakthroughs (23:25–25:21)
Jennie emphasizes how one session can clear years of holding back:
Immediate confidence
Marketing breakthroughs
Creative flow—clients jump into writing, creating, launching
Imposter syndrome often masks as procrastination—revealing the root emotion clears more than just blocks, it boosts momentum.
Practical Tips to Start Today (27:41–28:26)
Jennie:
Acknowledge your feeling—“Is this fear of not enough?”
Feel the feeling deeply yet briefly to begin shifting it.
Grab the free Mindset Reset PDF available via the link chat (as shared).
Closing Thoughts (28:34–29:11)
Sacha: Thank you, Jennie, this was transformational.
Jennie: Thank you for hosting me—so grateful women everywhere can step into confidence and clarity.
